US Open: Analyzing the PMI reports together

US markets are little changed with a slightly bearish tint amid a more mixed picture overseas. Equity futures are largely flat, though the USA100 is off -0.12% after a new record high. European bourses are seeing red, with the exception of the UK100.  For the Eurozone, the stronger than expected flash PMI readings did little to lift stock market sentiment; the GER30 is currently down -0.4% and the Euro Stoxx 50 down -0.5%. Asian markets digested a weaker PMI from Australia at a 3-month low, and Japan’s manufacturing index declined as activity slowed, while the services index improved but remained in contraction.
