European stock markets are posting broad gains, following a largely higher close across Asia. Japan’s Topix hit a fresh 33-year high and the Nikkei225 lifted an additional 1.6% to climb further above the 30,000 mark as rising exports supported the improvement in sentiment. Markets are increasingly optimistic that officials will reach a deal on the US debt ceiling although some are warning that this may be a “buy the rumour sell the fact” situation. US500 Futures trade at the key 4175 level and the USDIndex has remained supported and lifted towards the 103.00 mark as markets seem increasingly confident, how will the Weekly Claims data impact the situation today?
