Risk appetite remains the key!

US Equities are rallying, bolstered by the news that China will refrain from retaliating to new US tariffs. JPY and Gold turned lower, while the greenback has been holding up well despite record lows in long-end US Treasury yields. In contrast with Gold, Silver shines so far today, surging by more than 13% .

The USA30 has climbed 0.9% in pre-market trading while the USA500 is also 0.9% higher. The USA100 is 1.1% firmer. In Europe, the Euro Stoxx is up 1.4%, the CAC 40 has risen 1.4% and the GER30 is 1.1% stronger. Asia’s shares were mixed, having not benefited from China’s announcement of tariff restraint. Japan’s 225 slipped 0.1%, China’s CSI 300 fell 0.3% but Hong Kong’s Hang Seng rose 0.3%.
